PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
Originally from Iraan, Texas, Physician Assistant Jose Rivas holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science degree from Texas Tech University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Angelo State University. In 2009, he completed his studies with a Masters in Physician Assistant studies at the University of St. Francis in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has over seven years of professional experience in orthopedic trauma, total joints, fractures, and sports medicine. A huge sport’s enthusiast, Jose enjoys playing recreation sports and supporting his favorite teams in his free time. He also enjoys camping, fishing, and cooking.
Jose Rivas works closely with the Orthopedists to provide the following services:
￭ Sports Injury Care: Steroid injections, durable medical equipment application
￭ Osteoarthritis Management: Bracing and specialty off-loader bracing applications, steroid injections, hydraulic acid injections
￭ Fracture Care: Splinting, casting, application of moldable/removable bracing
￭ Assist surgeons with surgical procedures and post-operative
